Introduction

As I was finishing watching Senki Zesshou Symphogear (review here), I decided I wanted a figure of one of my favorite characters. Confident that there would be a wide selection, I began my search. To my surprise, despite the series’ considerable popularity in Japan, there are relatively few figures available. Moreover, there were hardly any figures that met my quality standards. My main issue was the appearance of the face or the type (I’m not a fan of action figures). I wanted one depicting Yukine Chris, Tsukuyomi Shirabe, or Akatsuki Kirika. In the end, I found only one that I liked.

Yukine Chris (Lovely Sweater Style) – 1/7 – Senki Zesshou Symphogear AXZ (Good Smile Company, 2023) – Workmanship

The figure was released in 2023 and depicts Yukine Chris in a lovely red sweater. Interestingly, it was issued by Good Smile Company for the AXZ series, the penultimate season, which started in 2017. I can’t fault the quality of the craftsmanship. The painting is very precise, and the plastic molds and sculpting are impressive in their detail. There are no jagged edges on the hair, which is a big plus since imperfections sometimes occur in this price range. The shading on the body, accessories, and underwear is quite nice.

Her face looks great from every angle. The figure closely resembles Chris, and it’s clear that the sculptor (AQUAMARINE) has considerable talent.

The figure is composed of four parts: the base, two separately inserted hair extensions, and the main body. The statue fits securely in the base, and there was no problem inserting it into the designated holes.

Other remarks and summary

Fans of Symphogear, especially Yukine Chris enthusiasts, shouldn’t hesitate to purchase this figure. It will definitely be a feast for the eyes. The attention to detail, painting, and quality of the sculpting are definitely worth the price. I am very pleased with my purchase and hope that in the future, other characters from Senki Zesshou Symphogear will also join my collection.

Nyaruko – B-style 1/4 – Haiyore! Nyaruko-san (FREEing, 2015)

Another FREEing figure from the B-style series has just dropped into my collection. This time it's the title character from the Haiyore! Nyaruko-san, whose review you can read here. I ordered it from Amazon Japan, and it was shipped by DHL courier company, which broke the delivery record - after 2 days the courier with the package appeared at my door.

Minase Iori – 1/8 – THE iDOLM@STER (Phat Company, 2014)

I've set myself a goal to collect the entire collection of 1/8 scale Idolm@ster figures produced by Phat! Company. Their quality for the price is simply superb in many respects (sculpting, brilliant reproduction of character designs from 2D to 3D, paint quality, etc.). Unfortunately, my copy of Minase Iori suffered from the well-known problem of plasticizer leakage.

Miura Azusa – 1/8 – THE iDOLM@STER (Phat Company, 2016)

When I first saw this figure, I immediately added it to my must-have list. I was charmed by the amount of detail and how well the model of this figure looks in 3D, which is not always so obvious. Of course, this is thanks to Mazaki Yuusuke, because good design and sculpting is essential.

Eris Boreas Greyrat Swimsuit Ver. – 1/7 – Mushoku Tensei (CA Works, 2023)

Since I liked Mushoku Tensei from the very first episode, my collection could not lack a figurine of my favorite character. Let me just mention that in the near future I will receive a shipment with another figurine depicting Eris, so its review will also appear.
