Kantoku – NOTE Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko. (Kadokawa, Media Factory, 2019) – My Comment
As I already wrote in my review of another artbook by this author. I fell in love with his design as soon as I watched the first season of One Room. Here we have an issue dedicated to another series where he was also responsible for the character designs. Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko (both in source material and the anime adaptation). The book is divided into seven thematic chapters. From the covers of the light novel of the same title, through the graphics used in the BluRay editions of the anime adaptation, to illustrations presenting the characters in gravure poses and black-and-white frames from selected pages of the novel. An interview with the author is also included at the end of the artbook.

Released in 2019, NOTE Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko is 140 pages in A4 format and has one fold-out page. All illustrations are gorgeously saturated with colors, which perfectly emphasizes the artist’s style. I can’t complain about the quality of printing and paper even if I wanted to. The content itself is very pleasing to the eye. Variety of material presented allows you to see Kantoku’s talent in every aspect of his work.

I can’t help but heartily recommend this publication to every fan of the Kantoku style, as well as fans of Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko. It is definitely worth buying.
