Towa no Yuugure

In 2038, as the world fuses ever more rapidly with artificial intelligence, protests and anxieties about the future of humanity intensify. Against this backdrop unfolds the story of Oumagi Towasa – the brilliant head of the android-development company Robotech OUMAGI, standing at the very center of a global debate – and Akira, an orphan who grew up by her side. Wanting to be more to her than just a brother figure, Akira strives to understand her world and never withholds his support. From their years-long bond, love blossoms—a confession and a promise of a shared future. But their happiness doesn’t last long.

In February 2039, during a press conference announcing the LC Project – an initiative to enhance humanity by integrating AI with the human body – an anti-AI extremist attempts an assassination. Guided by love, Akira shields Towasa and takes the bullets himself. He awakens naked, miraculously healed, in a deserted, unknown city lying in ruins.

Do I recommend it after the first episode? Yes – though it was a special episode, it served as a very valuable introduction to the story, which is why I’m already covering the series. The execution and themes are extremely interesting. The whole thing has strongly piqued my interest. The character designs looked intriguing- you can tell P.A. Works has been in an experimental mood with design lately. I’m eagerly awaiting the next episodes.

Bukiyou na Senpai

Kannawa Azusa is the undisputed ace of the PR Department. A multiple award-winner for her projects, she works quickly and precisely. Around the office she’s associated with cool professionalism, seriousness, and a slightly intimidating aura. To her coworkers she’s strict and unapproachable – someone who delivers without wasting time on pleasantries.

Yet beneath that polished façade is a hopelessly awkward woman, paralyzed by even basic conversations. Her neatly ordered, solitary routine falls apart when her boss assigns a new employee to her care: Kamegawa Yuu. Cheerful and painfully sincere – the exact opposite of Azusa – he looks up to his mentor with genuine admiration, completely unaware that his very presence sends her into a communication tailspin.

Kannawa now has to face some real challenges: exchange business cards without stumbling, invite him to lunch without bolting, and manage a friendly smile that doesn’t come off as off-putting. As Yuu’s sincerity begins to crack her armor, the clumsy senpai learns how to become a mentor in earnest.

Do I recommend it after the first episode? Yes – a very pleasant start and a great lead heroine. The visual presentation does its part as well. The character design is detailed, and the emotions they convey are portrayed really well. Lynn in the lead role, as Azusa, also sounds great. I’m definitely looking forward to the next episodes.

Yano-kun no Futsuu no Hibi

Yoshida Kiyoko, freshly elected class president, can’t take her eyes off her desk neighbor from day one: Yano Tsuyoshi. Paradoxically – though Tsuyoshi means strong – Yano-kun shows up to school every single day with a new injury, wrapped in bandages and perpetually bruised. This immediately sets off alarm bells for Kiyoko. Suspecting he might be a victim of bullying or domestic violence, she and her friend tail him after classes, only to discover that Yano-kun is simply a complete klutz – a magnet for misfortune who can trip over nothing and walk straight into any obstacle.

That, however, doesn’t put her at ease. Kiyoko’s worry only grows, quickly turning into constant concern that her friend correctly identifies as a crush. Yano, for his part, has already built a wall around himself – he’s afraid to get close to people, worried that his accident-prone nature could end up hurting someone. All he wants is a normal high-school life: hanging out with friends, going to the arcade, doing ordinary things without yet another disaster.

Do I recommend it after the first episode? Not quite – the characters don’t really click with me. A main protagonist whose quirk is every misfortune befalls me doesn’t exactly make me want to keep watching. The character designs also aren’t to my taste, even though the overall visual presentation is very pretty. At this point, I haven’t decided to give up on it yet, but I don’t think the series has much of a chance staying on my watchlist.

Tomodachi no Imouto ga Ore ni dake Uzai

Ooboshi Akiteru is a high school student who lives by a simple, logical code – efficiency above all else. Wasting time is a mortal sin – especially on illogical social games like be mean to the person you like. One person constantly puts this pragmatism to the test – Kohinata Iroha, his best friend’s younger sister.

To the rest of the world, Iroha is polite, bright, practically the model student. But when she’s alone with Akiteru, she turns into a relentless teaser – invading his personal space, derailing his plans, and watching with clear delight as he loses his composure. Their mutual friend Ozuma suggests this might be her peculiar way of showing affection. Akiteru dismisses it as pure nuisance.

He’s focused on the future of his indie game team, the 05th Floor Alliance. He wants a job at the major entertainment company run by his eccentric uncle. The condition, however, is absurd and non-negotiable. He has to become the fake boyfriend of his beautiful cousin, Tsukinomori Mashiro, who’s transferring to his school to escape a troublesome past.

Forced into a sham relationship with a girl who openly can’t stand him – while fending off the daily provocations of his buddy’s pesky younger sister – Akiteru soon realizes his logical, orderly world is tipping into chaos.

Do I recommend it after the first episode? Yes – the PV alone told me I’d really click with this title, and the premiere only confirmed it. Suzushiro Sayumi as Iroha is simply masterful. The visuals are solid too: the character designs—especially for the girls—are very well done. I’m eagerly looking forward to the next episodes.

Shuumatsu Touring

Youko and her calm companion Airi travel by motorcycle through the desolate yet beautiful landscapes of a post-apocalyptic Japan. Guided by a collection of old photographs, they retrace the route once taken by Youko’s beloved older sister. Their first stop is the former tourist haven of Hakone, where empty roads wind through mountains and along serene lakes. While searching for food and a place to recharge their battery, they discover that not all remnants of the old world have gone dormant. An encounter with an automated combat vehicle still following its last orders turns their trip into a tense chase – though they do find a moment’s respite in a forgotten nearby hot spring.

Do I recommend it after the first episode? Yes – I’ve read the first few manga volumes and I’m genuinely delighted with the adaptation. The backgrounds are beautifully drawn, the laid-back vibe is lovely, and the leads are truly easy to like. Only the 3D-rendered vehicles dent the overall aesthetic a bit, though they don’t look nearly as bad as they sometimes do in other series. Tomita Miyu in the lead role is fantastic – exactly how I imagined the heroine’s voice when reading the source material.

Kao ni Denai Kashiwada-san to Kao ni Deru Oota-kun

At Tashiro School, a peculiar daily battle of emotions plays out between two classroom opposites. Kashiwada-san is a master of the poker face – whether she’s surprised, sad, or genuinely amused, her expression remains unreadable. Oota-kun is her complete opposite. An open book of a boy whose every thought and feeling is written plainly on his face.

Ever since a bizarre first encounter involving a crow at the entrance ceremony, Oota has been determined to crack Kashiwada’s mask at any cost. He challenges her to psychological warfare over a game of Old Maid, pulls childish pranks, and even sets up ambushes – all in a desperate attempt to see a single genuine reaction.

But Kashiwada-san is always one step ahead. Despite her lack of expressiveness, she easily reads Oota’s every move, turns his tricks back on him, and leaves him flustered. Things get even more complicated when Kashiwada admits she enjoys his teasing.

Do I recommend it after the first episode? Yes – the series has potential, but like any show of this type, where everything hinges on a single character quirk, it could quickly become too repetitive. For now it’s hard for me to judge, but I really enjoyed watching the first episode. Add to that the adorable design of the main character and a visual style that is truly pleasing to the eye.

Kekkon Yubiwa Monogatari

When he was a young boy, Satou Haruto met in the forest a beautiful girl and her grandfather, who emerged from a blinding beam of light. She introduces herself as Hime and asks Haruto to forget what he saw. They then move into an apartment as his neighbors and begin living a normal life. Over the years, Haruto starts to see Hime as more than just a friend. He decides to confess his feelings on the anniversary of their meeting, but she tells him she has to return to her world to marry a prince. Hearing this, Haruto leaps into the beam of light after Hime – and wakes up in a world completely unfamiliar to him.

Sezon 2

Do I recommend it after the first episode? Yes – a direct continuation of the first season. The premiere picks up exactly where the previous season left off. I get the sense the visuals are on an even higher level. Everything looks truly phenomenal: from the details in every layer, to the beautiful, highly detailed character designs, to the excellent animation. The fanservice scenes really shine because of it.

Ranma (2024) Season 2

Tendou Soun announces to his three daughters – Akane, Nabiki, and Kasumi – that he has a suitable candidate for a husband. To unite the two families and secure the future of the Tendou martial arts legacy, Saotome Ranma – his friend’s son – is to become engaged to one of them. Akane, a talented martial artist who doesn’t care much for the company of boys, is chosen as Ranma’s fiancée. Soon after, the boy in question shows up at their doorstep. The household, however, notices a certain inconsistency. Ranma turns out to be a girl. It quickly comes to light that the Saotome family has a problem. During training at ancient Chinese hot springs, they fell into cursed pools that cause them to change form when splashed with water. Ranma now turns into a girl when doused with cold water, while hot water turns him back into a boy. The same goes for his father – except he turns into a panda.

Season 2

Do I recommend it after the first episode? Yes – a pleasant start, simply more of what we already saw in season one. This new adaptation definitely doesn’t hold a candle to the original, but it’s still enjoyable to watch.

Sawaranaide Kotesashi-kun

Kotesashi Kouyou is a first-year high school student with one clearly defined dream – to become a world-class sports doctor. Raised in a family of massage therapists, he has an almost magical intuition for treatment and physical conditioning – a talent that quite literally flows through his hands. To pay tuition at a prestigious school, he takes a live-in caretaker job at the dorm for the school’s most elite female athletes.

The school director who arranged the position makes him an offer – get the athletes to graduate in peak physical and mental condition, and in return you’ll receive a full scholarship to medical school. Kouyou knows refusal isn’t an option.

His start, however, is rather unfortunate. Due to a misunderstanding, he’s taken for a creep by Kusunoki Aroma – a first-year basketball prodigy who’s been struggling lately – but he manages to defuse the situation by helping her relax her muscles. He quickly discovers that the other residents also push their bodies to the limit every day, which leads to its own share of physical problems.

Do I recommend it after the first episode? Yes – the episodes aren’t full-length; each runs about 12 minutes. The start looks genuinely promising. The creators aren’t trying to pretend it’s anything else: pure fanservice, and very nicely done at that.

Alma-chan wa Kazoku ni Naritai

Kamisato Enji, an outstanding AI programmer, and Yobane Suzume, a master of robotics, are two brilliant scientists who have poured their hearts into a secret project – Alma. She is their ultimate masterpiece – a humanoid weapon with unparalleled combat abilities and an intellect that nearly rivals a human’s.

After a series of flawless tests, their professional triumph suddenly takes a personal turn when Alma’s logic leads her to a simple conclusion: the man and woman who created her must be her Father and Mother. The constantly bickering pair panics. To protect their creation from a world that wouldn’t understand her and to aid her development, they reluctantly agree to act as her parents.

What follows is a chaotic yet warm experiment in domestic life. Two parents who can barely stand each other have to handle awkward realities like sharing a room and supervising their daughter during her outings into the city. As Alma begins to interpret the world around her with cool logic, Kamisato Enji and Yobane Suzume discover that, day by day, they’re becoming the family their child has considered them from the start.

Do I recommend it after the first episode? Yes – a very warm, pleasant start. The interactions between the two brilliant scientists and their daughter are not only funny but genuinely engaging and simply a joy to watch. I have high hopes for this anime and I’m looking forward to the next episodes.

Egao no Taenai Shokuba desu

Futami Nana is a devoted mangaka whose creativity extends far beyond the pages of her manga. Her biggest challenge isn’t deadlines, but handling the simplest interactions with—at least in her mind—the cool, beautiful, and widely respected editor Satou Kaede. Even something as mundane as sending storyboards late at night turns in Nana’s head into a high-stakes drama, full of wild daydreams about passionate romances and chance encounters she might meddle in. Fortunately, her down-to-earth assistant, Hazama Mizuki, keeps her grounded. Nana tries to decipher the stoic Kaede, who quietly admires her work but is too shy to say it out loud.

Do I recommend it after the first episode? Yes – it definitely exceeded my expectations. The character animation is wonderfully expressive, the interactions between the leads are fantastic, and the humor genuinely works for me. And of course the voice cast – Hayami Saori, Uesaka Sumire, Itou Miku, Inoue Kikuko, Amamiya Sora, and Noto Mamiko – gives you one more reason to give this series a chance.

Chitose-kun wa Ramune Bin no Naka

At the top of the high school social hierarchy stands Chitose Saku- a boy who seems to have it all. Popular, athletic, and intelligent, he navigates school life wearing a carefully constructed persona of the perfect, approachable guy. Surrounded by his elite inner circle – the school’s radiant idol Hiiragi Yuuko, the sharp-witted Uchida Yua, and the calculating Nanase Yuzuki – many envy him, while some hate him and dismiss him as a womanizer.

This seemingly perfect routine is put to the test when his laid-back teacher tasks him with bringing Yamazaki Kenta – a withdrawn classmate who hasn’t shown up for months – back to school.

Barricaded in his room, Kenta communicates solely through insults, seeing Saku as a shitty womanizer and his female friends as a harem of sluts. Saku’s usual charm and gift for conversation prove useless against Yamazaki’s deep-seated resentment of the popular clique he despises. When attempts to reach him through mutual acquaintances fall flat, Saku has to rethink his approach.

He realizes that for someone this cut off, polite talk won’t cut it. He ditches the social games for a far more direct method, breaking down both the physical and metaphorical barrier between their worlds.

Do I recommend it after the first episode? Yes – for some reason the start reminded me a bit of Tomozaki-kun, even though the protagonist’s personality is quite different. The vibe is similar. The premiere was longer than usual – 36 minutes – plus about 15 minutes after the credits where two voice actresses showcased food and chatted about the characters. I already knew I’d like it after watching the PV. And studio Feel really went all out on the visuals. It looks downright gorgeous, and the direction and characterization are on point as well. I can’t wait for the next episodes.

Ao no Orchestra Season 2

From a young age, Aono Hajime admired his world-famous violinist father, who inspired him to pursue the same path. But after his parents’ divorce, he swears never to play the violin again and enrolls in a general-track high school with no real plan for his life.

During P.E., Aono is hit in the face by a ball and sent to the school infirmary, where he encounters Akine Ritsuko, who begins playing the violin, thinking she’s alone. Due to an incident in her past, rumors have spread that Akine is a bully, isolating her from her classmates—a fact Aono hadn’t known.

Akine dreams of getting into a school with an orchestra club, but her amateur playing and lack of musical knowledge don’t give her much of a shot. Seeing an opportunity, their teacher suggests that Aono teach Akine the violin—an idea he’s firmly against. However, as the two spend more time together, they quickly learn to understand and help each other, and Aono soon rediscovers his passion for music.

Season 2

Do I recommend it after the first episode? Yes – a direct continuation. No major changes; everything I liked in season one is present in the season two premiere episode. That said, it’s not as if nothing’s different. I get the sense the overall visual quality has improved significantly.
