Shokuhou Misaki – B-style 1/4 – To Aru Kagaku no Railgun (FREEing, 2022) – My Comment

Introduction

I ordered the figure in a preorder somewhere around the middle of last year. A few days ago I received it. Unfortunately, the package was sent by regular airmail, so the waiting time was over two weeks instead of four or five days. This is another FREEing B-style figure in my collection.

Workmanship

I’ve mentioned a few times when reviewing other 1/4 scale figures that each one is impressive when you look at it. Here, however, it is taken to a whole other level. As for quality – no change whatsoever here. Every figurine from this manufacturer that I own has been made with attention to details. However, the face itself, from certain angles, looks a bit… bland? Anyway, the painting, parts fitting and other details look great. Especially when you consider the size.

Other remarks and summary

In this case, though, I was surprised by its size. The box itself was already quite tall. I wasn’t expecting such a height after all (almost 50 cm). When I placed the order, I didn’t look at the size. This height means that even without the bunny ears (they can be pulled out) it won’t fit on any shelf in the most popular cabinet among collectors – Detolf from Ikea. I solved the problem partially by completely reorganizing my manga collection. Rearranging the shelves in one of the closets where my books are stacked. Even that way, it barely went in, so I recommend that those who are interested to measure their shelves (or other places where you put your figures) before ordering. I recommend it wholeheartedly to Shokuhou Misaki fans, the To Aru Kagaku no Railgun series, or simply bunny lovers.

Yuuki Mikan – 1/7 – To LOVEru Darkness (FuRyu / F:NEX, 2021)

Another Mikan figure in my collection. This time in a 1/7 scale sold under the F:NEX brand (owned by FuRyu). After purchasing it, I read the comments about it and noticed that quite a few people complained about the quality of the paint job. To be honest, I haven't noticed any defects or badly painted parts.

Ayaka-chan – 1/6 – Original Character (Bishop’s Rondo, 2020)

The figure has been created based on Gaou's illustration. Ayaka-chan is an original creation done by this artist. The manufacturer is Bishop's Rondo, a company that mainly deals with transferring original characters into 3D form as high-quality figurines.

Miura Azusa – 1/8 – THE iDOLM@STER (Phat Company, 2016)

When I first saw this figure, I immediately added it to my must-have list. I was charmed by the amount of detail and how well the model of this figure looks in 3D, which is not always so obvious. Of course, this is thanks to Mazaki Yuusuke, because good design and sculpting is essential.

Yuuki Mikan – B-style 1/4 – To LOVE-Ru (FREEing, 2018)

I've been hunting for this figure for a long time - I didn't manage to preorder it a few years ago. Unfortunately, either the prices were sky high, or the sellers offered really expensive shipping options (the box is quite massive, after all). Recently, however, I managed to buy it (and in the version I wanted, because there is also one without tights) at quite a reasonable price (considering this particular model and series).
