Minase Iori – 1/8 – THE iDOLM@STER (Phat Company, 2014) – My Comment

Introduction

I’ve set myself a goal to collect the entire collection of 1/8 scale Idolm@ster figures produced by Phat! Company.

Workmanship

Their quality for the price is simply superb in many respects. Sculpting, brilliant reproduction of character designs from 2D to 3D, paint quality, etc. The figure itself is similar to the one I described some time ago (Miura Azusa). The base holds the whole thing securely. It doesn’t create a strong resistance to joining. This is often the case with many other manufacturers, where you have to use a hair dryer to make the material more flexible.

Other remarks and summary

Unfortunately, my copy of Minase Iori suffered from the well-known problem of plasticizer leakage. It is causing the figure becoming sticky in some places. Someone advised me on a certain forum to wash it in a solution of lukewarm water and soap, which was supposed to restore the statue to its original state. I have never washed my figurines in such a way and I was afraid that I would wash some of the paint off, but a few other forum members joined the discussion and assured me that nothing like that would happen if I handle the task gently. So I decided to do as I was instructed. I can confirm that the method works and the parts that were sticky are back to their original state.

Homura – 1/7 – Max Factory / Good Smile Company (Xenoblade 2)

I'm a huge fan of Xenoblade 2, which you could actually see in my review of that game. Unfortunately I didn't catch the preorder of Homura, and then it was quite hard to get it at a reasonable price. I found it on Amazon Japan a few weeks ago, and basically without thinking I used the カートに入れる (add to cart) button.

Succubus Rurumu – 1/6 – Original Character (Bishop’s Rondo, 2020)

Figurine was designed based on an illustration by Tamano Kedama. Rurumu is an original design by this artist. The manufacturer is Bishop's Rondo, a company mainly engaged in transferring original figures into 3D form in the form of high-quality figurines.

Miura Azusa – 1/8 – THE iDOLM@STER (Phat Company, 2016)

When I first saw this figure, I immediately added it to my must-have list. I was charmed by the amount of detail and how well the model of this figure looks in 3D, which is not always so obvious. Of course, this is thanks to Mazaki Yuusuke, because good design and sculpting is essential.

Eris Boreas Greyrat – Okigae Mode – 1/7 – Mushoku Tensei (Ques Q, 2023)

Another Eris figurine in my collection. Both of them (including the previous one from CA Works, which I recently reviewed here) I wanted to have in my display cabinet as soon as I saw them for the first time. Fortunately, the sale was not heavily limited, so I was able to purchase them without any problems.
